Heart Hospital of Austin encourages family members to stay around-the-clock with patients, and a sleeper bed is provided in every patient room. In most cases families are allowed to wait in patients' rooms as they emerge from surgery.

Our 24-hour visitor policy ensures patients have love and support available whenever they need it. It keeps a patient's spirits high and allows family members to witness first-hand the care and treatments that their loved one is receiving. Later, when a patient is released from the hospital, family members are better prepared to assist in the at-home care prescribed by the physicians.
