Each year, Heart Hospital of Austin performs approximately 400 heart surgeries and 1500 vascular surgeries, which are surgeries that involve the heart, lungs, chest, esophagus and the major blood vessels of the body.
Our unique operating suite houses imaging equipment that allows surgeons to conduct minimally invasive procedures with backup OR capabilities in case an open procedure becomes necessary. Most of our aortic aneurysm repairs are endovascular (minimally invasive technique that allow for access via major blood vessels) which results in faster recoveries. In fact, for many procedures, we have a shorter length of stay than other hospitals.
